Trunnell Electric Honored as a Top Regional Family-Owned Business by the Washington Business Journal
Rockville, Md. (PRWEB) March 01, 2016 — Trunnell Electric has been honored as one of the top multi-generational, family-owned businesses in Greater Washington in the Washington Business Journal’s inaugural Family-Owned Business Awards competition, the Maryland-based electrical contractor announced today. Trunnell Electric is one of only 15 family-owned businesses in this region to receive this honor, which exemplifies “overall excellence, innovation, ethics and philanthropy.”
Trunnell Electric, founded in 1936, is led by the second and third generation of the Trunnell family. Currently serving commercial and residential customers in Maryland and Northern Virginia, Trunnell Electric provides electrical contracting services in design, lighting, wiring, fire alarm system installation, renovation, energy-efficiency retrofitting and LEED certification-compliant services.
Two-thirds of the residential communities in Bethesda/Chevy Chase and upper Northwest D.C. were wired by Trunnell Electric in the 1940s-1960s, and during the 1970s-1980s Trunnell did the electrical construction for most of the original high-rise office buildings in Bethesda’s Woodmont Triangle. Trunnell recently completed fast-track installation of advanced lighting and electrical systems in a commercial renovation project at the historic National Bohemian Brewery complex in Baltimore.
